Haiti - Culture : Martelly...  Sweet Micky back on stage for education

The President Michel Martelly announced this Thursday he'll return to the stage briefly in December for a concert where he hopes to raise $10 million for schools in Haiti.

Michel Martelly, the singer became President of Haiti, said he hopes to persuade officials from the U.N. and the neighboring Dominican Republic to buy plenty of tickets for this event to be held in Port-au-Prince on 23 December.

"I remain close to my people," Martelly told The Associated Press on the eve of his first address to the United Nations. "I keep singing with them."
