Thursday April 13, 2023, at a press conference, Nesmy Manigat the Minister of National Education accompanied by members of his cabinet, Étienne Louisseul France, Departmental Director of Education - West and Kendy Nicolas, Director of Fundamental Education announced "[...] From this Friday, April 14, 2023 and until May 7, 2023 all public and private schools that have had time to make their declaration [mandatory census https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-39137-haiti-education-compulsory-general-census-of-public-and-private-schools.html ] on the website of the Ministry, will be able to begin the process of registration of candidates for the 9th years of the primary school for the official exam."

So far, more than 5,300 public and non-public schools (nearly 38% of schools in Haiti) are already registered on the Ministry's platform. The majority of these schools are located in the Ouest, Artibonite and Nord-Ouest departments.

The Minister encourages schools that have not yet declared themselves to do so quickly. If they are having difficulty, they can seek help from their school district or departmental offices emphasizing "There will be no special cases this year and it will be for all schools that go through all the steps of the process."

Renan Michel, the Director of the National Bureau of State Examinations (BUNEXE) recalls that in the past, departmental directors used to register these categories of students, but this year it will be done by school administrators.

The registration fee is 1,000 Gourdes No student in grade 9, from any school in the country, should pay an extra penny for registration.

The officials of the ministry, during this press conference, insisted on asking the school officials to have in hand, during registration, the presence of the students, so as to avoid errors in names, signatures and dates of birth.
