Haiti - Politic : Disturbed speech of the PM during the 220th anniversary of the flag (Video)

Thursday, May 18, 2023 in Cap-Haitien, accompanied by members of his Government, the High Command of the National Police of Haiti, the authorities of the Great North among others the Prime Minister a.i. Ariel Henry celebrated the 220th anniversary of our national Bicolor, an event symbolizing unity, harmony and reconciliation.

An unity which did not seem acquired in front of an audience which a part of which disturbed the intervention of the Prime Minister.

Excerpts from the intervention of the P..M. a.i. Henry :

"[...] Flag Day is the celebration of all Haitians. Whether we celebrate it in Port-au-Prince, in Gonaïves, whether we celebrate it in Archaie, it is always the same Haiti, the same flag. We would like to be in all the cities of the country, in all the communal sections we start again with the tradition of this beautiful celebration every May 18th.

It is important, today, to invite everyone to sit down, discuss, dialogue, so that we get out of where we are. We must listen to the needs of our compatriots, who want to live in peace, who want to come and go as they want, who want to restore people's rights, to choose, in complete freedom, the people they want to put at the head of the country.

It is time that the children of the people who want to enter a university in Haiti can find a place. It's time for them to have quality training, to be competitive, across the country. The government is doing what it can to ensure that the university has another salary [...]"
