This Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at 5:11 and 22 seconds in the morning, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.5 on the Richter scale was recorded in Haiti again near Abricot (Dept. of Grand'Anse)

The epicenter was located at 18.68 degrees north latitude and 74.32 degrees west longitude, i.e. at sea 4 km north-west of Abricot (Grand'Anse department), 23 km north-west of Jérémie (Grand'Anse Dept.), 180 km northwest of Léogâne (West Dept.) and 210km west of Port-au-Prince (West Dept.) at a depth of 10 km.

No loss of life has been reported so far by the Civil Protection in relation to this earthquake which was strongly felt, but many damages in Jérémie and a situation of panic among the population. A house overturned on another, in Sainte Hélène. For the moment, members of the population are trying to find survivors.

UPDATE 8:29

3 dead and 12 injured are currently being treated at Saint-Antoine Hospital after this morning's earthquake. Two of the victims died on the spot in the collapse of their house in the Saint-Hélène neighborhood, the other, taken from the rubble, died in hospital. Searches are underway to try to rescue other survivors.
