2 alleged bandits lynched

Sunday July 23, two presumed bandits (Gallens and Brave thus known) were lynched and their corpses burned, by members of the population of Chambellan, in Grand'Anse. They were accused of the murder of 2 young boys last week in the commune.

Popular justice without nuance

Members of the population of Fond Fred, second communal section of Les Cayes, killed the past weekend with knives and then burned the mambo Soulina Valsaint and Clermita thus known. They were accused by popular clamor of being responsible for the death of a young man in a traffic accident.

An obstetrician-gynecologist kidnapped

Sunday July 23, 2023, gynecologist and obstetrician Dr. Reynold Grand Pierre, was kidnapped in Tabarre while returning from a supermarket. While condemning this kidnapping, members of the medical profession demand the release of the doctor.

Coach Wilner Lamarre has passed away

Sunday February 23, coach Wilner Lamarre died at the age of 55. The news was announced by the Haitian Football Federation. Wilner Lamarre "was one of the coaches who contributed to the development of several players who are currently part of the Haitian women's national team."

"Sextortion" Bill

This Tuesday, July 25, the Anti-Corruption Unit (ULCC) is organizing a discussion workshop on the preparation of a draft bill on "the criminalization of "sextortion" (solicitation of sexual favors in exchange for public services) as an act of corruption". During this workshop, the ULCC will welcome proposals from all actors in society in order to adopt a final text.

A Haitian-Canadian Ambassador of Canada to Zimbabwe

Former journalist at Radio Galaxie, Haitian-Canadian diplomat Adler Aristilde has been appointed Canadian Ambassador to the Republic of Zimbabwe. He replaces Ms. Christina Buchan in this position.
