Data calculated since the first confirmed case (October 3, 2022) according to data from the Department of Epidemiology, Laboratories and Research of the Ministry of Public Health and Population (MSPP).

Total suspected cases: 61,325 since October 3rd, 2022 +29 (partial), previous +677

Total new confirmed cases: 3,782* cases +0, previous +70

Total hospitalized cases (suspected and confirmed): 55,122 since October 3rd, 2022 +26 hospitalizations, previous +728

Total deaths: 826 deaths ((578 institutional (+0) and 248** community (+0)) +0, previous +3

* Not updated to date - By extrapolating the average rate of confirmed cases tested on the number of suspected cholera cases since the start of the epidemic, the number of confirmed cases should really be around 22,000

Definitions:

Suspected cases:

Anyone with acute watery, profuse diarrhea with or without vomiting and dehydration

Confirmed case:

Any suspected case with a positive culture for “Vibrio cholerae” or presenting an epidemiological link with a confirmed case of cholera

Hospitalized case:

Any suspected or confirmed case that spends at least 24 hours in a care centre

Institutional death:Any suspected or confirmed case who dies in a treatment center.

Community death:

Any suspected case that dies outside of a caring institution.
