"On Saturday August 26, 2023, a crowd headed by the religious leader Marcorel Zidor, made up of several hundred of his followers dressed in jerseys bearing a logo bearing his name, as well as individuals armed with machetes and Others armed with assault rifles wearing olive green uniforms staged a protest without notifying the National Police. This crowd would have had the objective of going to dislodge the members of gangs based in Canaan led by the named Jeff thus known

Once informed, the Police had taken measures by establishing security perimeters to prevent the demonstrators from reaching their destination, and began talks with a view to convincing the organizers not to continue in this enterprise to avoid carnage on the part of bandits who have an arsenal of war.

However, the protesters bypassed the security arrangements that were established by law enforcement, and still arrived at the desired areas to confront the said gang members. Which confrontation, killed by bullets, and several injured in the ranks of the demonstrators. Some worshipers have even been kidnapped. The National Police condemns this 'regrettable' tragedy and offers its sympathy to the families and loved ones of the victims.
