Haiti - UN : Participation of the PM in the 78th General Assembly of the United Nations

Sunday September 17, 2023, Prime Minister a.i. Ariel Henry at the head of a Haitian delegation, left Port-au-Prince for New York, to participate in the 78th General Assembly of the United Nations. He is accompanied by representatives of the High Transitional Council, the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Planning and External Cooperation, Public Health and executives of the Prime Minister's Office.

During his speech at the General Assembly on September 22, Ariel Henty "will reiterate his urgent request for robust support to the Haitian National Police (PNH) with a view to restoring security throughout the national territory" and "he will defend the rights and interests of the Haitian people, while respecting those of others," one read in the Prime Minister’s press release.

On the sidelines of this session, he will participate in numerous panels and bilateral meetings with heads of state and government from several countries in the Western Hemisphere, Africa, Europe and Asia.

In the absence of the Prime Minister, the interim in Haiti is provided by Michel Patrick Boisvert, Minister of Economy and Finance.
