Haiti - Social : Major distribution of kits to more than 2,000 women who fled violence

Tuesday, October 3rd, 2023, the Ministry of Women's Affairs and Women's Rights (MCFDF) carried out a major distribution of kits, in the courtyard of the Ministry on Avenue Magny, (Champs de Mars).

The Ministry team distributed more than 2,000 kits such as : food kits, baby kits, kitchen kits and hygiene kits.

Thus, more than 2,000 women who fled the deadly violence of bandits in Carrefour and who settled in different camps in the center of Port-au-Prince, benefited from a means of temporarily coping with the situation in which they live.

The allocation intended to support these women living in these difficult situations, particularly the weakest, in shelters, clearly shows the Ministry's desire to fight for women.

In addition to the distribution of kits, there was also a series of bags containing : blankets, solar lamps, mosquito nets, without forgetting around 150 mattresses which were distributed to women to sleep in shelters.

Should be noted that this distribution was made possible thanks to the support of "Food for the Poor".
