Haiti - Celebration : World Teachers' Day, 4 major decisions

As part of the celebration of World Teachers' Day, this October 5, 2023, the Ministry of National Education and Professional Training (MENFP) intends to place this day under the sign of the personal and professional development of teachers of the Republic.

4 major decisions were adopted by the Ministry for the occasion:

1. The Order establishing the Teacher Professional Skills Framework;

2. The Order strengthening the criteria relating to the granting of a teaching permit;

3. The Ministerial Decision on the framing and direction of continuing training actions for Haitian educational personnel. ;

4. The creation of the National Register of Teachers, an essential management tool to address the problem of the Teacher Condition.

In this sense, the Ministry is launching, from this Thursday, October 5, the process of online registration of teachers by their directors of public and private schools. This system will make it possible, among other things, to obtain precise data on the number of teachers working across the country, their level of qualification, their level of teaching and the schools of assignment.

This information will allow the Government, through the Ministry, in concert with stakeholders and partners, to better target teachers in continuing training actions, to better define a salary scale according to the teacher's profile, and to better guide the supports envisaged for improving the teaching condition.
