The Lorquet Foundation for a New Haiti (FOLONHA), fully supports the Free Zone project "Oasis Village International" in Ferrier proposed by the Haitian company "Ayiti Developpement Industriel International S.A. (ADII S.A.)" the result of a partnership with UPH&BLUE (Spain) which aims to settle in the North-East of Haiti opposite Mancenille Bay.

The Foundation invites the authorities in charge of affairs in Haiti to take all the administrative and political measures required to authorize the implementation of this ambitious project of more than 621 million dollars in initial investment, which is paralyzed due to lack of authorization.

Let's remember that Dr. Jean Palème Mathurin, Promoter of this Project had already helped Haiti to benefit from the HOPE & HELP Laws, the Labadee Tourist Port and the Caracol Industrial Park.

"Oasis Village International" will extend over an area of more than 250 hectares of land in the interior, in an abandoned area and 2,500 ha on the coast. This project benefits from the support of several international investors. The funds are available and all that is blocking is obtaining authorization from state officials...

The FOLONHA, wonders why since the Duvalier dictatorship, all major projects that could bring development to Haiti have never been supported by the highest authorities of the country ?

Among the industrial activities retained in this project:

• Automotive assembly, Industrial mechanics, Consumer electronics & Electrotechnics, Banking equipment and materials;

• Refinery of Gold and Precious Metals from imported ores;

• Strategic storage of products essential to development (oil and gas, modern port infrastructure, industrial infrastructure, etc.)

• High value added services (Telephony; Industrial loans; Real estate; Electricity and cooking gas; Drinking water, etc.). The site will have an electricity production capacity of one gigawatt capable of supplying 5 departments.

19 foreign companies have already expressed their interest in setting up there.

Among other positive impacts of this project:

• More than 16,000 direct jobs, and 90,000 indirect jobs;

• Important taxes and duties for the State;

• Increased social coverage for more than 16,000 families.

FOLONHA invites the country's active forces and Civil Society to support this initiative and to intervene with a view to its realization. This project must be one of the highest priorities of the authorities so that Haiti does not miss this great opportunity.
