The Mayor of Jacmel in prison

The interim executive agent of the municipality of Jacmel Marky Kessa was sent into detention this Monday, November 20, 2023. This detention was ordered by judge Walter Wesser Voltaire, after hearing the person concerned as part of the investigation of the the investigation into the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse. Ariel Henry met Tony Blair

During his stay in Riyadh, Prime Minister Dr. Ariel Henry had a working session with former British Prime Minister, Mr. Tony Blair, and members of his Institute for Global Change team. The meeting took place around the search for a negotiated solution to the border dispute between the Dominican Republic and the Republic of Haiti for the use of the waters of the Massacre River. The head of government explored with Mr. Blair the possibility of using the good offices of his foundation to facilitate the resumption of discussions, with a view to normalizing relations between the two countries while respecting the recognized rights of each.

Honorary plaque to Karine Margron

The Embassy of Haiti in Cuba awarded an honorary plaque to Karine Margron, soprano singer and pianist, in recognition of her exceptional dedication to the preservation and promotion of Haitian music repertoires.

Turkey : Repatriation of 334 Haitians

The Turkish government repatriated 334 Haitians on Sunday, November 19. The latter, mostly young people, found themselves in great difficulty in Turkey . Supported by IOM and the diplomatic missions of Haiti, they arrived aboard an Air Lanka flight at Toussaint Louverture International Airport. This repatriation which should be carried out on Friday November 17 has been postponed due to the tropical depression.

A police officer from the 27th promotion falls under bullets

On Sunday afternoon of November 19, several people, including national police officer Vladimir Marcelin of the 27th promotion, were shot and killed in an attack perpetrated by a gang in Bel Air against the Solino district.
