Denial from the Canadian Embassy:

The Canadian Ambassador to Haiti, André François Giroux, categorically denied rumors according to which the Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mélanie Joly, had requested a delay of 6 months to provide evidence to the Canadian Senate concerning the ongoing sanctions in Haiti against former Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe. He claims that such a request was never made.

Crisis : the former PM Evans Paul deplores

According to former Prime Minister Evans Paul "The Haitian actors have not reached an agreement to stem the crisis because they are not aware of the seriousness of the situation in the country" he deplores that the discussions between the protagonists are concentrated on who should lead the country instead of how to get it out of this multifaceted crisis in the long term.

Montreal Haitian Consulate closed
