Haiti - Literature : Lyonel Trouillot receives the Grand Prix du Roman Métis 2011

The Grand Prix du Roman Métis 2011 was awarded this Tuesday to the Haitian poet and novelist Lyonel Trouillot for "La belle amour humaine" which depicts a Haitian (Thomas) and a young Western (Anaïse). The author engages a dialogue shifted between the two characters. Thomas describes to the young woman the complex powers of the living and the dead in his country. Anaïse wants to find traces of a father that she has barely knew and clarify the enigma which is the basis of her family story.

"This world produces malaise, that's what I'm talking in this book made of fragments of reality, especially on the predators who run Haiti and which leave nothing to the other" declares the author.

The Grand Prix du Roman Métis 2011 [established in 2010], is organized by the city of Saint-Denis de la Reunion and the association "la Réunion des Livres".
