Haiti - FLASH : Cap-Haitien, Seizure of weapons and ammunition, 2 men wanted

Following the major seizure of weapons and ammunition carried out on Friday April 5, 2024, at the Port of Cap-Haïtien https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-42051-haiti-flash-major-seizure-of-weapons-and-ammunition-in-cap-haitien-video.html, the National Police of Haiti (PNH) launched a wanted notice against Wilmane JEAN and Barthol, thus known, for their involvement in the arms and ammunition trafficking.

According to information from the PNH, the arms shipment came from the United States via the Alliance INT’L Shipping L.L.C. Agency, 6916 NW, 72Nd Avenue in Miami and was intended for Wilmane JEAN, Customs Broker. A man named Barthol, thus known, was responsible for receiving these contraband arms and ammunition.

Note that Wilmane JEAN fled and Barthol was conspicuous by his absence... Currently, they are both on the run and actively sought by the PNH.

Let's recall that during an operation carried out jointly with agents of the Customs Surveillance Brigade in support of customs officers, investigators from the Northern detachment of the Office for the Fight against Drug Trafficking (BLTS), assigned to the National Port Authority in the commune of Cap-Haitien, carried out a targeted search at the Cap Terminal S.A of Cap-Haitien inside a container registered : KOSU 461487-6.

During this search, a large quantity of weapons and ammunition were discovered in two beige cardboard boxes bearing the number 75.

Weapons and ammunition seized:

12 assault rifles

14 9mm pistols

999 cartridges including 638 of 2.56 caliber

278 caliber 9 mm

52 caliber 7.62

36 of 40 caliber

34 chargers
