Haiti - Social : Discussions on the possibility to extend the TPS 16/11/2011 13:44:08
In the aftermath of January 12, 2010, a Temporary Protected Status (TPS) was granted to Haitians. In August of this year the U.S. immigration had reminded to the Haitians to fill out the form TPS, indicating that the current 18-month extension of TPS expires on January 22, 2013. Earlier this week, Daniel Supplice, the Minister to the Presidency in charge of Haitians living abroad (MHAVE), has met with, the Ambassador of the United States accredited to Haiti, Kenneth H. Merten about the possibility to extend the Temporary Protected Status (TPS), for Haitian nationals living in the United States. Mr. Supplice also states that "the revaluation of the process of repatriation of Haitians in the country, was also on the agenda" of this meeting. TB/ HaitiLibre
