Haiti - Education : Inauguration of the EducationUSA Center at Bridge High School in Delmas

The U.S. embassy today inaugurated the EducationUSA Center at Bridge High School in Delmas. The purpose of this center is to provide information to Haitian students interested in attending U.S. universities.

"The U.S. government seeks to increase the number of Haitian students studying in the United States and this center can help achieve this goal," said Public Affairs Officer Jon E. Piechowski.

Last year, almost 900 Haitian students attended American universities, out of the more than 723,000 foreign students who were enrolled in American higher education institutions. The EducationUSA Center at Bridge High School joins a global network of more than 420 Advising Centers supported by the U.S. Department of State. EducationUSA centers actively promote U.S. higher education around the world by offering accurate, comprehensive, and timely information about educational institutions in the United States and guidance to qualified individuals on how best to access those opportunities.

Haitian students interested in studying in the United States should visit the EducationUSA center and explore their options, which include public and private institutions. They can also find out about scholarships and financial aid opportunities. For more information, contact EducationUSA Advisor Fabienne Rousseau for an appointment at:
