The Société de Gestion Propreté et Services Publics, Société Anonyme Mixte (joint stock company (PROPUBLIC SAM) informs that the work to complete a first part of the temporary solid waste burial trench called "Boukannen Tann Bouyi", the leachate treatment pit and other related works, as part of the Solid Waste Management project in Mouchinette (3rd communal section of Roucou, commune of Limonade) resumed on September 9, 2024, for a period of 6 months.

This work aims to improve waste management in the Arrondissement of Cap-Haïtien, thus contributing to a cleaner and healthier environment for all. The objectives set for this phase of work are as follows:

1 - Adjust the excavation bottom to an additional depth of 30 cm and develop the slopes of the section in question;

2 - Excavate and build a dike around the section in question;

3 - Clear and develop internal and external access roads;

4 - Complete the construction of the septic tank;

5 - Waterproof the forty-five linear meter (45 ml) section;

6 - Lay a layer of clay;

7 - Install a 2 mm geomembrane layer;

8 - Install a geotextile layer (800 g/m2);

9 - Install drainage devices to the septic tank;

10 - Rehabilitate the western internal road of the site;

11 - Supply and install lamps for lighting the site;

12 - Build the sheds;

13 - Ensure the burial of waste.

Let's recall that this project is financed to the tune of 33.5 million by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and will allow the construction of a Solid Waste Management Center, including a landfill and infrastructure for composting and recycling waste.
