On Tuesday, December 10, 2024, as part of the process of modernizing Jacmel's hydraulic infrastructure, the National Directorate of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DINEPA), through its Regional Office of Drinking Water and Sanitation South (OREPA-Sud) organized in the city of Jacmel, a public consultation meeting as a prelude to the start of the rehabilitation, reinforcement and extension work of the Drinking Water Supply System (SAEP) of this city.

This initiative aims to ensure regular distribution of drinking water directly to household taps. The work involves laying 40 kilometers of additional pipes, which will be added to the 133 kilometers already in place. It should be noted that this project, which includes the strengthening of the Jacmel city center network as well as its extension to areas such as Breman, Fond-Prince, Lamandou, Monchil, among others, will be carried out by the Tempo Construction Group - STP Auster. The duration of the work is estimated at 16 months.

Despite the serious challenges facing the country, the General Directorate of DINEPA continues to develop the Drinking Water and Sanitation (EPA) sector. Its commitment aims to guarantee rural and urban populations access to quality drinking water, sanitation and hygiene services.
