Despite the testimonies, complaints and criticisms of human rights organizations on the violations of their rights suffered by deported Haitians, the DGM affirms that these returns of illegal migrants to their country of origin are carried out in compliance with human rights and international agreements to which the country is a signatory, in accordance with the policy and directives of President Luis Abinader.

Furthermore, the DGM announced that in the last quarter of 2024, a comprehensive review of the organization and procedures of the DGM was carried out with a view to a reorganization so that it can comply with the mission assigned to it by the Constitution and the law.

In addition to the reorganization of the DGM, collaboration will be increased with the Ministries of Defense, Labor, Foreign Affairs, Interior and Police, Agriculture, the National Children's Council, the Central Electoral Commission and international organizations, with representation related to immigration issues.
