Haiti - Canapé-vert : Government's social appeasement program, objective achieved

On Sunday, December 29, 2024, on the occasion of the "ti kan" football final which brought together several teams from the area, the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Civic Action (MJSAC) officially closed the series of activities held in Canapé-vert, as part of the Government's Social Appeasement Program. From the Makaya fair https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-43889-haiti-news-zapping.html to the socio-recreational day of December 24, 2024 https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-43945-icihaiti-youth-great-day-of-socio-recreational-activities.html , the mini football and basketball competitions, Niola Lynn Sarah Dévalis Octavius, the Minister of Youth, satisfied, thanked all those who took part in all of these activities and was delighted with the positive impact of this program during the holiday season.

"We have achieved our goal of chasing away the fear psychosis that was rampant among young people in the run-up to the end-of-year holiday season, particularly in difficult areas," said the Minister, while specifying that "for the 14 other sites where the 'ti kan' championships are taking place, the end of activities is planned for later : Pétion-ville and Carrefour-feuilles (January 6, 2025)."

She strongly recommended that young people take on the efforts that should lead us to stability, explaining that the country cannot be emptied of all its inhabitants. "The country belongs to us and we must learn from the prowess of our ancestors who acted with the means at hand to snatch our freedom acquired since then. We can do the same because Haiti has a great people, we have a very rich and inspiring history to be able to rise from our ashes."
