Haiti - U-17 Women's World Cup Qualifiers : Disappointment!

On Monday, March 31, 2025, as part of the final qualifying phase of the Concacaf Women’s U17 Championship for qualification to the U-17 Women’s World Cup Morocco 2025, our Grenadières in Group A, faced the "Ticas" of Costa Rica in Mexico for the first group match. Haiti was routed, our Grenadières were largely dominated and humiliated [0-8].

Summary :

One word to sum up this match: "Disappointment" in the face of the resounding 8-0 victory by the Costa Rican Ticas, who humiliated our Grenadières.

Verónica Solano opened the scoring for Costa Rica in the 19th minute, finishing in the box after receiving a pass from the right wing [1-0].

Lucía Paniagua extended the lead with consecutive goals in the 27th minute [2-0] and 39th minute [3-0] with two precise left-footed shots at the far post.

The Ticas scored twice more in added time before the break, with Fabiana Arguello scoring in the 45th minute [4-0] and Paniagua completing a first-half hat-trick with her goal in the 45th minute [5-0].

Leadex [5-0] at the start of the second half, our Grenadières never troubled the Tica. Raquel Recio headed the score in the 61st minute [6-0]

Nubia Medina, assisted by Paniagua in the 71st minute [7-0] and Alisha Lindo in the 84th minute [8-0], sealed the victory for Costa Rica and the collapse of Haiti…
