On Tuesday, April 15, 2025, James Monazard, the Minister of Trade and Industry (MC), signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Rasanbleman Madan Sara (RAMSA) organization.

This MoU aims to promote the formalization of small and medium-sized enterprises in the country, bring the Ministry closer to RAMSA, and provide business benefits to Madan Sara. This represents a decisive step towards the country's economic development.

"No step in the right direction is possible if we ignore the Madan Sara," said Minister Monazard, adding that he has a duty to guarantee the dignity of women traders.

After outlining the various support tools available at the MCI to bolster the national economy, Monazard promised to work with his government colleagues to reduce the licensing fees for trader organizations or groups that are part of RAMSA.

For her part, Jocelyne Jean Louis, RAMSA Coordinator, praised the Minister's commitment and unwavering support for the commercial sector, particularly for small businesswomen. She expressed her hope that this agreement will pave the way for more opportunities for all entrepreneurs in the country.

To ensure better monitoring of this agreement, which promotes economic growth, a four-member committee was established by the two signatory parties.

This event was attended by representatives of the Taiwanese Embassy in Haiti, the representative of the Minister for Women's Affairs, Ms. Natacha Kénold, and various other civil society figures.
