Haiti - Taiwan : Strengthening the capacities of Haitian farmers through training

To help Haitian farmers better understand the health of their crops, the Taiwan Technical Mission organized a training session as part of the Haiti Vegetable and Fruit Cultivation Development Project.

After in-depth discussions with farmer organizations and partners, the topic "Identifying Symptoms of Nutrient Deficiencies in Plants" was selected. It is a practical subject that directly addresses farmers' real-life needs.

The Taiwan Technical Mission created a manual for identifying deficiency symptoms, rich in visual aids and key explanations, which was distributed to all participants. The atmosphere was dynamic during the training: the farmers were curious and eager to learn. They enthusiastically answered questions during classroom interactions, not fearing mistakes, but only missing out on learning...

"Even more heartening was seeing many farmers stay after the session to ask questions and delve deeper into topics such as soil composition and nutrient cycles." This clearly demonstrated their growing understanding and interest in agricultural techniques.

The President of the farmers' organization also expressed his gratitude, emphasizing that training programs like those implemented as part of this project are truly useful to Haitian producers and have a positive impact on the country's agricultural development.

The Taiwan Technical Mission is "convinced that through continued knowledge sharing like this, small changes quietly take root in the soil and transform into a powerful force for future harvests."
