Haiti - Economy : Roundtable of partners on financing Haiti's priorities 25/04/2025 09:58:02
On April 22, 2025, a Donor Roundtable on Haiti was held in Washington, DC, during the Spring Meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). This roundtable brought together government officials, international organizations, and members of the private sector to discuss financing urgent priorities. The roundtable was organized following the December 2024 publication of the Haiti Rapid Crisis Impact Assessment (RCIA) Report for the period 2021-2024. A comprehensive investment plan, aligned with the priorities defined in the Government's roadmap, was presented during the roundtable. During a videoconference, Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils Aimé emphasized the importance of addressing Haiti's priorities, including security through strengthening the Haitian National Police (PNH) and the Haitian Armed Forces (FAd'H), holding elections, economic recovery, and social healing programs. The Prime Minister emphasized the need for constructive dialogue to finance the RCIA, thus contributing to the country's social and political stability and inclusive growth. He also highlighted the need for better coordination of international aid, creating synergy between the central government, local authorities, international partners, and the private sector to address the various challenges facing the country. Alfred Fils Métellus, Minister of Economy and Finance, presented the 2024-2025 supplementary budget.
