Haiti - Judicial Police : Training on new investigation and intervention techniques

The excellent cooperation between the Organization of American States (OAS) and the French Embassy in Haiti made it possible to organize training sessions for the Bureau of Financial and Economic Affairs (BAFE) and the Bureau to Combat Drug Trafficking (BLTS) of the Haitian National Police (PNH).

A French expert from the Directorate of International Security Cooperation (DCIS) came to Haiti for two weeks of joint training at the BAFE and BLTS.

Over five days, the French expert trained more than twenty police officers in new investigative and judicial police intervention techniques. This training was completed with a session on the use of equipment recently provided to the PNH.

France remains committed to supporting Haitian security forces in the fight against criminal gangs, drug trafficking, and corruption.

Cristobal Dupouy, Special Representative of the OAS Secretary General in Haiti, stated, "[...] The OAS remains committed to the Haitian people in their profound determination to combat the scourges that plague the nation's stability. This represents an unprecedented cooperation between France, Canada, the OAS, and the Haitian National Police."
