Thierry Mayard-Paul, the Minister of Interior, of Territorial Collectivities and National Defense has launched yesterday major program of sanitation in the metropolitan area on the occasion of Christmas and New Year.

Under this program, nearly 80 deputies should receive enough to organize activities in their constituencies. 800 motorcycles will be distributed throughout the country and 70 organizations will receive equipment allowing 100 people to work.

These gifts of motorcycles are strongly criticized by several political figure who reminds to the Head of State to keep in mind that he's no longer in campaign, a approach qualified of "anarcho-populist" by the national coordinator of the Organization of People in Struggle (OPL), Sauveur Pierre Etienne who believes that the Head of State makes brings to mind Duvalier with his envelopes full and the slogans "Martelly papa bon coeur" inscribed on signs in the city.

Sources close of the power, estimate for their part that the activities undertaken by the Head of State and his wife have made happy through the country and that the criticisms made by some sectors will not demobilize them.

The Minister informed that 170 000 food kits will be distributed to the population as part of the program "Christmas Solidarity"

The Senator Youri Latortue, said that the national police would receive 15 million gourdes as part of program Christmas Solidarity.
