Early Saturday afternoon, August 2nd, 2025, following surveillance, the Haitian National Police (PNH), through the Central Directorate of the Judicial Police (DCPJ), arrested former Senator of Nippes (Lavalas) Nenel Cassy in a restaurant in Pétion-ville.

Should be noted that Nenel Cassy had been actively sought by National Police officers since the issuance of a wanted notice against him on February 18, 2025https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-44312-haiti-flash-16-dangerous-and-armed-individuals-wanted.html on charges of : Conspiracy against internal state security; Financing criminal organizations; Complicity in murder; and Criminal Association, among others, as part of several investigations currently being handled by the DCPJ.

As part of this action, members of his immediate family were also designated, including his spouse Katherine Cassy Chery and a minor child.
