Haiti - Economy : 10 Main Dominican Products Exported to Haiti

During the first half of the year (January-June 2025), 1,482 products were exported from 20 Dominican provinces by 794 exporters. Despite the crisis in Haiti, Dominican exports to the neighboring country reached US$555.46 million in the first half of this year, a 30% increase (+US$128.2 million) compared to January-June 2024.

According to customs data, 56.26% of exports to Haiti under the national regime (excluding the free zone) are concentrated in 10 products.

For its part, the free zone sector mainly exported knitted t-shirts and undershirts (34.92%), cotton fabrics (30.81%), rags, and textile ropes, cords, and cables (6.29%).

Additionally, Haiti regularly purchases large quantities of food products, such as chicken, eggs, pasta, sugar, chicken broth, herring, groceries, grains, and other items, from binational markets, regardless of customs regimes and irregular border movements.

The top 10 Dominican exports to Haiti from January to June 2025:

# 2523 : Hydraulic cement (colored or uncolored):

22.30% (2024), 38.88% (2025), an increase of +74.38%, or 10.39% of imports in 2025

# 7214 : Forged, rolled, or extruded bars of iron or carbon steel

5.38% (2024), 35.75% (2025), an increase of +564.47%, or 9.55% of imports in 2025

# 1507 : Soybean oil and its fractions:

14.51% (2024), 27.24% (2025), an increase of + 87.75%, or 7.28% of imports in 2025

#1101 : Wheat flour or semolina:

23.21% (2024), 22.52% (2025) decrease -2.97%, or 6.02% of imports in 2025

#2103 : Sauces and prepared sauces:

15.33% (2024), 18.80% (2025) increase +22.61%, or 5.02% of imports in 2025

#1905 : Bakery, pastry, or biscuit products, including those with added cocoa:

19.24% (2024), 17.20% (2025) increase +10.63%, or 4.59% of imports in 2025

#3923 : Plastic articles for transport or packaging, caps, lids:

13.05% (2024), 16.69% (2025) increase of 27.90%, or 4.46% of imports in 2025

#1902 : Pasta, including cooked or stuffed pasta:

14.63% (2024), 12.48% (2025) decrease of 14.72%, or 3.33% of imports in 2025

#1102 : Cereal flour, other than wheat or semolina:

7.13% (2024), 11.17% (2025) increase of 56.74%, or 2.98% of imports in 2025

#2202 : Water containing added sugar or another sweetener or flavored:

4.46% (2024), 9.86% (2025) increase of 120.77%, or 2.63% of imports in 2025
