Haiti - FLASH : Towards the establishment of a UEH university campus in the Grand Sud

The Rectorate of the State University of Haiti (UEH) announces that a UEH delegation, led by Rector Dieuseul Predelus, accompanied by Professors Bildadson Cadelus, Chief of Staff; Prédner Duvivier, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs; Milien Midas, Coordinator of Provincial Entities; and Renauld Govain, former Dean of the Faculty of Applied Linguistics, conducted an exploratory tour of the departments of Sud-Est, Sud, Nippes, and Grand'Anse from August 5 to 8.

The main objective of this tour was to identify a suitable site for the establishment of a UEH university campus in the Grand Sud region. This ambitious project aims to bring university education closer to the young people of this region.

This initiative clearly demonstrates UEH's desire to expand its reach beyond the capital, with a view to providing accessible, high-quality education tailored to the specific needs of local populations. More than just an educational institution, this future campus is envisioned as a strategic lever for local socioeconomic development. By training competent and responsible youth, this campus will help stimulate innovation, job creation, and sustainable progress in the region.

During this tour, the delegation had the opportunity to meet with key stakeholders, listen to their expectations, and assess the potential of the Greater South to host this project. These meetings provided a better understanding of regional realities and helped guide the next steps of this initiative.

It is important to note that the creation of this campus represents a major step forward in UEH's policy aimed at strengthening its presence throughout the country. This Grand Sud campus project represents a promising future for young people in the Grand Sud, who will be able to benefit from better educational opportunities without having to leave their region.
