On Friday, August 22, 2025, at the "Société Nationale de Parcs Industriels" (SONAPI), Dr. Bertrand Sinal, Minister of Public Health, inaugurated a new medical oxygen production center.

This achievement was made possible thanks to the support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Global Fund.

Medical oxygen is vital for saving lives in several situations :

Emergencies :

First line of treatment in many situations (cardiac arrest, choking, poisoning, etc...);

Operations/Surgical Procedures :

Essential during and after many surgeries to keep the patient alive;

Resuscitation :

Maintains vital functions in intensive care;

Premature Babies :

Helps premature babies breathe and survive;

Chronic Diseases:

Improves and prolongs the lives of patients with respiratory problems.

During this inauguration, the Minister reiterated his commitment to ensuring a regular supply of oxygen and facilitating access to it for all patients.
