The monthly report on the human rights situation in Haiti for September 2025, recently published by the Defenders Plus Collective, paints a grim picture and sounds the alarm.

During September 2025, the Defenders Plus Collective observed a worsening of human rights violations that multiplied in several departments, severely affecting the population. Assassinations, sexual violence, kidnappings, forced displacement, and armed attacks claimed new victims and plunged thousands of families into mourning and exile from their neighborhoods.

In the West, Artibonite, Center, and Northwest regions, local communities continue to suffer unprecedented violence. Women and children are among the main direct victims of attacks or forced to survive in precarious conditions of displacement...
