Gang Repression Force: Planning and Timeline

On Saturday, October 18, 2025, the Presidential Transitional Council (CPT) and the Prime Minister held a meeting with a U.S. delegation led by U.S. Chargé d'Affaires Henry T. Wooster. The main objective was to discuss the planning and operations of the Gang Repression Force (FRG), as well as the planned timeline for its implementation.

UN Sanctions Regime Extended

Unanimously adopted by the 15 members of the Security Council, Resolution 2794 extends until 2026 the sanctions regime targeting actors threatening peace and security in Haiti. These measures include an arms embargo, an asset freeze, and travel bans on individuals and entities linked to gangs.

Haiti at the World Taekwondo Championship

Master Frenel Ostin, President of the Haitian Taekwondo Federation (FHTKD), confirmed that 11 Haitian taekwondo practitioners (local and living abroad) are expected to participate in the World Championships to be held in Wuxi, China, from October 24 to 30, 2025. However, security constraints in Haiti may force the Federation to limit its participation to taekwondo practitioners living in the diaspora.

Haiti Opens a consulate in Tijuana

The Haitian government is strengthening its diplomatic presence in Latin America with the official inauguration of the Haitian Consulate in Tijuana, northern Mexico. This initiative aims to better supervise and protect Haitian migrants living in the border region with the United States.

Football : Inter-university tournament result

On Saturday, October 18, at Parc Sainte-Thérèse in Pétion-Ville, as part of the Inter-university Peace Competition, UNASMOH and IWU finished their match with a draw [1-1]. UNASMOH opened the scoring in the first half, but then eased off. IWU took advantage to equalize before halftime, despite several yellow cards. The second half failed to separate the two teams. This result keeps both teams in the race for qualification.
