Haiti - USA : The Mayor of Cap-Haitien at the Florida International Trade & Cultural Expo

On October 22 and 23, 2025, Angie Bell, Mayor of Cap-Haitien, participated in the Florida International Trade & Cultural Expo (FITCE 2025), held at the Broward County Convention Center in Florida.

This international event, organized by the Broward County Office of Economic & Small Business Development, annually brings together municipal representatives, investors, diplomats, and economic development stakeholders from over fifty countries.

Invited as Mayor of Cap-Haïtien, Ms. Bell spoke on a panel focused on investment opportunities in the Caribbean and Latin America.

She highlighted Cap-Haitien's economic and human assets, emphasizing the vitality of its youth, its strategic proximity to the American market, and the region's potential in the fields of light processing, agribusiness, as well as cultural and tourism services. "Cap-Haitien is a historic city, open to the world, ready to welcome investors and build lasting partnerships based on trust, innovation, and respect for our identity," Ms. Bell said in her speech.

On the sidelines of this event, the Mayor held fruitful discussions with several representatives from the private sector, local authorities from Broward County, as well as influential members of the Haitian diaspora committed to Haiti's economic development.

The participation of the Cap-Haitien City Hall in this major international forum is part of a strategic approach of decentralized cooperation and municipal diplomacy, aimed at strengthening ties between Haiti and the diaspora, while opening the city to new prospects for sustainable growth.
