Haiti - Agribusiness : Ayitika Chocolate wins 3 awards in Paris

At the 30th edition of the Salon du Chocolat (World Chocolate Fair) held in Paris (October 29 to November 2nd), the Haitian company Ayitika, sharing a booth with Norway, proudly represented Haiti and won two "Gourmet" medals awarded by the Agency for the Promotion of Agricultural Products (AVPA) for its Dark Chocolate with Guava and its Dark Chocolate with Cinnamon. The medals were officially presented to Ayitika during the fair.

This fair is not a competition; it is the world's largest event dedicated to cocoa and chocolate, bringing together more than 250 exhibitors each year from some thirty countries, representing the main players in the industry: producers, chocolatiers, artisans, chefs, institutions, and enthusiasts. In 2024, it welcomed more than 95,000 participants who came to discover and taste the creations of chocolatiers, pastry chefs, and producers from around the world.

Furthermore, to mark the 30th anniversary of the Salon du Chocolat in Paris, a new competition, "Les Éclats de Chocolat" (Chocolate Sparkles), organized by the Salon du Chocolat in partnership with Galeries Lafayette Le Gourmet, was launched to showcase the most innovative, ethical, and delicious creations from the Salon's exhibitors, rewarding products that embody the excellence of contemporary chocolate.

Five prizes were awarded : the Innovation Prize, the Jury's Choice Award, the Commitment and Ethics Prize, the Discovery Prize, and the Best Bean-to-Bar Chocolate Bar, won by Ayitika for its "Kanperen-80%" bar.

This chocolate bar is a blend of two groups of cacao varieties: Contamana and Amelonado. Selected by Ayitika, these varieties are cultivated by rural families in the Camp-Perrin region (Southern Haiti). Specific fermentation and roasting protocols were developed and adopted for this combination. The jury particularly appreciated the balance of flavors, the intensity, and the great aromatic subtlety of this chocolate bar, stated the president of the Salon du Chocolat (Chocolate Fair) as she presented the award to Jean Chesnel Jean, Founder and CEO of Ayitika.

One of the immediate benefits of this award is the featuring of three Ayitika products at the prestigious Galeries Lafayette Le Gourmet in Paris in the spring of 2026.

In the meantime, Ayitika will also participate in the Salon du Chocolat de Montréal (Montreal Chocolate Fair) from November 20 to 23, 2025, at Windsor Station.
