Air Cooperation between Haiti and Cuba

Réginald Guignard, Director General of the National Civil Aviation Office (OFNAC), participated in a meeting with Cuban authorities aimed at strengthening cooperation between Haitian and Cuban airlines to improve the establishment of direct air services between the two countries.

For its 50th edition, the Henri Deschamps Literary Prize honored two women : Daniolande J. Julien, winner of the 2025 Prize for her novel "Brasseur d’asphalte", and Jeanie Bogart, who received the Special Prize for this anniversary edition for her story "Celle qui revient".

Sunrise Airways plans flights to Newark

Sunrise Airways is currently working on opening flights to the New York area (specifically Newark) and hopes to launch services by the end of the fourth quarter of 2025. However, these flights are not yet scheduled or open for booking, as the airline is still awaiting final government and operational approvals.

DR : Haiti Embassy Closed

The Embassy of Haiti in the Dominican Republic reminds the general public, and the Haitian community in particular, that the Mission will be closed on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, for the commemoration of the Battle of Vertières. Activities will resume at the usual time on Wednesday, November 19, 2025.

National Disability Awareness Month

The Office of the Secretary of State for the Integration of Persons with Disabilities (BSEIPH) officially launched the National Disability and Inclusion Month on November 12, 2025. The objective of this event was to provide information on all the activities planned for the commemoration of December 3, the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. Among the main activities announced are : three days of training for 50 artists with disabilities; conferences and debates on economic and institutional inclusion and human rights; Talent showcases, cultural activities, and para-sports matches in the departments, and the graduation of 100 massage therapists with disabilities.
