Haiti - Education : Tribute to the national Laureates of the State exams (List)

On Friday, November 14, 2025, Presidential Advisor Smith Augustin participated in the ceremony honoring the top-performing national students in the 2024-2025 national State exams, held at the Montana Hotel in Pétion-ville. Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, members of the government, Ambassador Cheng-hao Hu of Taiwan (Republic of China), Ambassador Antoine Michon of France to Haiti, the representative of the Mexican Embassy, ​​and members of international technical and financial organizations were also present.

In his address, Smith Augustin commended the laureates for their academic rigor and urged them to remain role models for young people, stating that their success marks the beginning of many victories in their lives. He also announced that the current administration, despite the challenges, remains committed to making education its top priority. Allocating the largest share of the 2025-2026 budget, representing 16% of the total amount of over 54 billion gourdes,

He nevertheless emphasized the need to pool all resources to ensure the collective success of high school graduates and thus raise the average pass rate on state exams.

Antoine Augustin, the Minister of National Education, confirmed the awarding of scholarships by the Taiwanese Embassy to the honorees recognized during the ceremony.

The eight recipients honored at the ceremony by the Presidential Transitional Council (CPT) and the Government are : Thalantina Rozier, Frédéric-Léonel François, Leguirne Brévil, Robinho Julien, Mélissa Samedi, Christina Laguerre, Jephté Pierre, and Christelle Angerville.

They received books and a laptop computer as prizes. An honorary certificate and a check from the Ministry for an amount ranging from 150,000 to 500,000 gourdes.
