Haiti - FLASH : Barbecue warns the population of the imminent start of a major counter-offensive by «Viv Ansanm» (video)

Following the Haitian National Police's (PNH) shift from a defensive to an offensive mode, Jimmy Chérizier, alias "Barbecue", leader of the "Viv Ansanm" terrorist gang coalition, issued a video message urging the population to stay home. He stated his intention to confront law enforcement in the streets of Port-au-Prince and prevent civilian casualties.

The possibility of a counter-offensive by "Viv Ansanm" has been taken into consideration by the Haitian National Police (PNH), which has suspended all leave and vacations since Sunday, November 16, until further notice. As a precaution, the French Embassy will remain closed on Monday, November 17.

"[...] This message is addressed to the Haitian people in general. Starting this Monday, November 17, 2025, unless absolutely necessary, do not go out. All drivers' unions, stay home. All public transport drivers, stay home [...] We are announcing this without taking drastic measures, in order to inform the public about what will happen, to prevent them from becoming victims. Those who don't need to, do not go out into the streets. Leave the streets to 'Viv Ansanm' and the police so that we can confront them," said "Barbecue" in his message.

"If you ignore this and go out, we are not responsible for what might happen to you. The time has come, Haitian people, to unite to liberate this country [...]"

This statement comes after the Haitian National Police (PNH), the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAD’H), and the Gang Supression Force (GSF) launched a large-scale joint operation a few days ago against the "400 Mawozo" criminal gang, which has been holding under hostage the communes of Tabarre and Croix-des-Bouquets, north of Port-au-Prince, for years. https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-46222-haiti-croix-des-bouquets-the-haitian-national-police-pnh-deals-a-decisive-blow-against-the-400-mawozo-gang.html https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-46211-haiti-flash-terrorists-killed-and-wounded-weapons-and-ammunition-seized-pnh-helicopter-set-on-fire.html
