Haiti - Telecom : Internet performance results between Digicel and Natcom

Ookla's report on connectivity for the first half of 2025 (January to June), focusing on the state of mobile and fixed networks in Haiti based on Speedtest data, has just been released.

Digicel Dominated the Mobile Market :

According to Speedtest data, Digicel proved to be the fastest mobile operator in Haiti for the first half of 2025, across all technologies. Digicel posted the highest median download speed (16.08 Mbps), surpassing Natcom (5.22 Mbps). Digicel also led the market in terms of median upload speed (11.32 Mbps).

According to Speedtest Intelligence data, Digicel offered the best mobile gaming and video streaming experiences in Haiti during the first half of 2025.

According to Speedtest data, Digicel achieved the highest mobile connectivity score among Haitian operators during this period, with a score of 44.6. The Speedtest connectivity score combines key indicators to evaluate the overall user experience offered by mobile operators. It includes the speed score, as well as performance indicators for web browsing and video streaming.

Among Haiti’s most populated cities, Fermathe had the fastest median mobile download speed, at 22.15 Mbps. Carrefour came in second, followed by Port-au-Prince. Conversely, the Ouanaminthe district had the slowest median mobile download speed, at 3.58 Mbps, followed by Gonaïves and Les Cayes.

The South Department recorded the fastest median mobile download speed in Haiti, at 15.13 Mbps. The West Department came in second, followed by the North Department. Conversely, the Northeast Department had the slowest median mobile download speed, at 6.74 Mbps, followed by the Central and Artibonite Departments.

Natcom, Haiti’s Fastest Fixed Internet Service Provider (ISP)

Natcom was Haiti’s fastest ISP during the first half of 2025, with a median download speed of 52.94 Mbps and a median upload speed of 54.91 Mbps.

According to Speedtest Intelligence® data, Natcom had the best fixed network among internet service providers in Haiti during this period, with a Speedtest Connectivity Score of 57.47. This score combines key indicators to evaluate the overall user experience offered by internet service providers. It includes the speed score, as well as performance indicators for web browsing and video streaming.

According to Speedtest data, Natcom was the fastest internet service provider in Haiti during this period, with a speed score of 48.14. Natcom recorded a median download speed of 52.94 Mbps. Natcom also dominated the market in terms of median upload speed, with 54.91 Mbps.

Natcom recorded the highest network reliability in Haiti, with 75.6% of its samples reaching or exceeding the 25 Mbps download and 3 Mbps upload speeds.

Carrefour had the fastest median fixed download speed among Haiti's most populated cities, at 64.36 Mbps. Port-au-Prince came in second, followed by Les Cayes in third. At the other end of the spectrum, the Ouanaminthe district had the slowest median fixed download speed, at 22.56 Mbps, followed by Gonaïves and Saint-Marc.

The Nippes department recorded the fastest median fixed download speed in Haiti, at 56.15 Mbps. The South department came in second, followed by the West department. Conversely, the Central Department has the slowest median fixed internet download speed, at 24.65 Mbps, followed by the North and Northeast Departments.
