Haiti - FLASH : Sectoral Table on the Gang Supression Force

On Thursday, November 27, 2025, at the Karibe Hotel, Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé participated in the 5th edition of the Sectoral Roundtable on Security, organized by the Center for Analysis and Research in Human Rights (CARDH).

This Sectoral Roundtable, focused on the transformation of the Multinational Security Support Mission (MMSS) into a Gang Supression Force (GSF) in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 2793 adopted on September 30, 2025 (https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-45891-haiti-flash-the-security-council-has-voted-for-the-new-gang-repression-force.html), brought together representatives from the Organization of American States (OAS), the UN, judicial authorities, the Haitian National Police (PNH), and the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAd’H) and civil society.

Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé emphasized that the establishment of the FRG (Global Resistance Force) represents a sign of hope for the population, opening a new phase in the fight against crime and the reconquest of the territory. He announced that the "first additional component of the GSF should be on the ground by mid-December (without specifying a date)." He expressed his hope that by April 1st, 2026, Haiti will have additional troops and equipment capable of increasing its operational capabilities, noting that a meeting is scheduled for mid-December in New York with countries that have offered to contribute to the GSF.

The Prime Minister also stressed the need for a strengthened national unity, the only thing capable of supporting the security forces, fighting impunity, and restoring the authority of the State.

Furthermore, it is worth recalling that the members of the Group of Francophone Ambassadors, during a special session in New York on November 20, 2025, announced a series of commitments aimed at accelerating the deployment of the GSF. "The highlight of the meeting was the announcement, by several delegations, of concrete commitments commensurate with the urgency of the situation and the remaining needs to be met. The International Organisation of the Francophonie (OIF) welcomes the announcement by Chad and Burundi of the provision of four battalions, as well as the exemplary mobilization of France, Benin, Djibouti, and Equatorial Guinea, which demonstrated their commitment through pledges of various contributions : technical, financial, logistical, or in terms of military personnel."
