Emmanuel Vertilaire, Presidential Transitional Advisor, accompanied by Hu Cheng Hao, Ambassador of Taiwan (Republic of China) to Haiti, made an official visit to the North for the patron saint's day celebration in La Victoire (Vertilaire's hometown) in the Saint-Raphaël district. This visit is part of the ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation between Haiti and Taiwan.

After attending a solemn mass, he embarked on a tour focused on security, local development, and the improvement of public infrastructure. Vertilaire visited the La Victoire police station and then the town hall, where he met with local officials, particularly regarding the need for drinking water.

During his visit, Advisor Vertilaire announced that the town will soon be transformed into a major development site. Four projects, already funded, will be launched:

- The construction of a modern administrative complex;

- The construction of a public market;

- The redevelopment of the public square;

- The paving of streets.

He added that three other projects are already under consideration :

1. The construction of road sections linking Pignon/La Victoire/Mombin Crochu to Ouanaminthe;

2. The construction of the road linking La Victoire to Bohoc;

3. The construction of the La Victoire National School.

Furthermore, Vertilaire reported that steps are being taken with the National Education Fund (FNE) for the construction and rehabilitation of schools in the municipality. He was pleased that the initial steps have already been taken to begin these essential projects.

150 million gourdes have already been allocated for the first projects, ushering in a new era of modernization for the commune.
