Search : Mayor Chevry takes legal action

Ralph Youri Chevry, the Mayor. From Port-au-Prince, I inform you: "“On December 17, 2025, through a direct summons and via my lawyers, I filed a lawsuit with the Port-au-Prince Criminal Court to assert my rights following a serious violation of my individual liberty (https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-46409-haiti-justice-unwarranted-search-of-the-residence-of-port-au-prince-mayor-ralph-youri-chevry.html). This legal action aims to obtain justice in the face of an intervention that I consider illegal and arbitrary, and to reiterate that no one is above the law, regardless of their position. My approach is neither personal nor political: it is based on respect for the Constitution, the rule of law, and the right of every citizen to the protection of their fundamental freedoms. I trust in the justice system of my country."

The 4th Conference of Haitian Ambassadors https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-46448-haiti-politic-towards-a-strong-and-forward-looking-haitian-diplomacy.html concluded on December 18. This final day of work focused on six major strategic areas: humanitarian action; migration challenges; cooperation and economic development; consular affairs; administrative and financial affairs; and institutional reform. The discussions allowed for an assessment of the challenges, the proposal of avenues for strengthening diplomatic efforts, and the clear definition of new directions aimed at making the diplomatic work of missions more effective and the management of external services more efficient, as well as harmonizing coordination between missions and the central administration.
