From Port-au-Prince, I inform you: "“On December 17, 2025, through a direct summons and via my lawyers, I filed a lawsuit with the Port-au-Prince Criminal Court to assert my rights following a serious violation of my individual liberty (https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-46409-haiti-justice-unwarranted-search-of-the-residence-of-port-au-prince-mayor-ralph-youri-chevry.html). This legal action aims to obtain justice in the face of an intervention that I consider illegal and arbitrary, and to reiterate that no one is above the law, regardless of their position. My approach is neither personal nor political: it is based on respect for the Constitution, the rule of law, and the right of every citizen to the protection of their fundamental freedoms. I trust in the justice system of my country."
