Beaumont : Alleged Werewolf Lynched

On Saturday, December 20, 2025, Mambo Bernadette Prétile, also known as "Mambo the Witch" was lynched by unidentified individuals in Beaumont. She was accused of being a "werewolf" and suspected of involvement in the death of a resident in the town. Two of her relatives were also killed, and their bodies were burned. The Departmental Initiative Against Child Trafficking (IDETTE) strongly condemned this barbaric act and called on the authorities to identify and punish those responsible for this triple murder.

The Brazilian soccer club Gremio of Porto Alegre, where Ronaldinho plays, is scouting in Haiti. Three of our young Haitian players are already training there.

Haitian National Police (PNH) Thwarts Kidnapping

On Monday, December 22, 2025, officers of the Haitian National Police (PNH) thwarted a kidnapping attempt at the corner of Catherine Flon and Ardouin streets (Delmas 31). One of the kidnappers was fatally wounded in an exchange of gunfire with the police, while the other managed to escape. Tragically, Joseph Johnny Rolls, a security guard working for a local business, was killed by the kidnappers before the police patrol arrived. The PNH extends its deepest condolences to his family, colleagues, and loved ones.

The Consulate of Haiti informs that consular services will be exceptionally open on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The Consulate will be closed on Thursday, December 25, and Friday, December 26, 2025, for Christmas. Consular services will resume on Monday, December 29, 2025, at the usual hours.

Embassy of Haiti in the Bahamas :

The Embassy of Haiti in the Bahamas informs the public that its offices have been closed since December 22, 2025, for the Christmas and New Year holidays.
