Haiti - Politic : Inauguration of the new premises of the Chancellery

On Thursday, January 15, 2026, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs inaugurated its new premises in the 12-story "Gala Tower" building, recently purchased by the Government. Formerly owned by a senior official within the Ministry, the building is located at 15 Rue Mangonès in Pétion-Ville. The amount of the real estate transaction was not disclosed.

The inauguration ceremony took place in a solemn atmosphere, in the presence of members of the Presidential Transitional Council, Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, Chancellor Jean-Victor Harvel Jean-Baptiste, members of the Government, former ministers, officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representatives of the State's senior civil service, as well as members of the diplomatic and consular corps.

In his address, Laurent Saint-Cyr, President pro tempore and Coordinator of the Transitional Council, emphasized the institutional and symbolic importance of the event. He emphasized the need to make this new space a strategic decision-making center, grounded in ethics, performance, and the national interest. He advocated for a renewed Haitian diplomacy, one that is more proactive, inclusive, and focused on the country's priorities. Finally, he called for strengthening international partnerships and increasing the involvement of women and young talent in conducting diplomatic work in service of the nation.

These new premises will finally allow the Ministry to welcome foreign dignitaries, government officials, and users of its services in a suitable setting that meets the standards of all embassies worldwide.
