The Office of Communication of the Presidency has sent us the schedule of activities planned throughout the week, as part of the commemoration of two years of the passage of the earthquake of January 12, 2010.

AGENDA OF THE COMMEMORATIVE WEEK OF JANUARY 12, 2012

Monday, January 9 :

5pm – 7pm at the Karibe Convention Centre

Launch of report on the activities of the past two years, presentation of four films and launch of a book on school construction by UNICEF.

Tuesday, January 10 :

8h30am – 11h30am at the Karibe Convention Center

Official launch of the campaign on the standards of the reconstruction by the MTPTC

Will also be present: UN Habitat, UNDP, PADF, IFRC, SDC, Swiss Cooperation.

5pm – 9pm at the Hotel Montana (Pétion-Ville)

Evening multimedia by the Cluster Emergency Shelter and CCCM.

Wednesday, January 11 :

9am – 12pm at MSPP

Call to action to accelerate the elimination of cholera in Haiti and in Dominican Republic by WHO / PAHO / CDC / UNICEF the Government of Haiti and the Government of the Dominican Republic https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-4666-haiti-health-fernandez-and-martelly-want-to-eradicate-cholera-from-the-island-of-hispaniola.html

1) Public announcement to the national and international media in the presence of President Martelly, the Mayor of Port-au-Prince, the Prime Minister, the Ministers of Interior, Foreign Affairs, Public Works, international and national partners and guests of honor. 2) Meeting with displaced people living in the Champ de Mars since the earthquake. Interview with Minister Oda and President Martelly.

Presentation of the roadmap for the reduction of seismic risk as part of the activities of the National system of risk management (SNGRD). Ministry of Interior & UNDP.

2pm – 4pm at the Hotel Montana (Pétion-Ville)

Press briefing by the Presidential Advisory Council for Economic Development and Investment (CCPDEI) and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Haiti (CCIH) Presentation of all major projects under construction in the private sector, carriers of modernity and job creators.

5pm – 7pm at the Hotel Montana (Pétion-Ville)

Launch of the works of Claude Prépetit, "La menace sismique en Haïti. Hier, aujourd'hui et demain. Pour que la menace ne soit pas oubliée" and under the direction of Jean-Daniel Rainhorn "Haïti : Réinventer l'avenir" Preface by Michaëlle Jean. Afterword by Michèle Pierre-Louis.

Thursday, January 12 :

10am – 12pm to Limonade (Northern Department)

"2012: the year of reconstruction": Multimedia presentation of the Government of Haiti, of private sector and international partners of Haiti. Prime Minister's speech.

9am – 12pm to Limonade (Northern Department). Auditorium of the university campus.

Symposium on quality management in higher education.

Inaugural lecture of Professor Samuel Pierre : "Building a Haitian university for a Haitian nation of welfare and prosperity."

3pm – 5pm to Morne-à-Cabrits

Inauguration of new social housing in Morne-à-Cabrits.
