Haiti - Security : Big firepower of tanks donated by South Korea

The Haitian National Police (PNH) took possession on Thursday, February 5, 2026, of three tracked battle tanks donated by South Korea. These advanced armored vehicles are specifically designed for operations in hostile environments. Each equipped with six grenade launchers, their firepower is big : each can fire 20 grenades per minute, allowing for a total rate of 120 grenades per minute per vehicle. They are operational for launching a variety of munitions, including stun, smoke, and tear gas grenades.

Equipped with top-level armor, these tanks are resistant to high-caliber weapons fire, fire, Molotov cocktails, and explosives. Their mobility is ensured even on the most difficult terrain and unpaved roads, guaranteeing their deployment in all conditions.

The Haitian National Police (PNH) already has the human and logistical resources to maintain this equipment in operational condition. Maintenance will be carried out by qualified technicians from the institution, and their ammunition supply is guaranteed. Imminent deployment to strategic locations throughout the country is planned.
