Haiti - CRASH : Wreck of the Agape Flights plane found, little hope of survivors (video) 07/02/2026 09:01:23
On Thursday, February 5, 2026, Agape Flights, a non-profit Christian missionary aviation organization based in Venice, Florida, that flies to support humanitarian and missionary activities in the Caribbean, reported losing contact with its Embraer 110 Bandeirante aircraft, registration N361AF, in a mountainous area of Haiti while flying between the cities of Jérémie and Les Cayes. Upon receiving the alert, the Joint Rescue and Coordination Center/Search and Rescue (JRCC/SAR), an entity of the National Civil Aviation Office (OFNAC), immediately mobilized its partners and several regional rescue agencies to initiate the initial response. Due to the early sunset, it was not possible to deploy aircraft to reach the last known position of the plane. From the early hours of Friday morning, the Hero team, in coordination with the JRCC/SAR, resumed search operations in the affected area. Agape Flights stated that it would not release the identities of those on board or any other details until the information was confirmed. On Friday, February 6, 2026, the wreckage of the aircraft was found by a rescue team conducting a helicopter search in the mountains of the Grand'Anse region. At this time, it is difficult to determine if anyone survived the crash, which left the aircraft scattered in several pieces in a rural area of the South. The plane crashed on Thursday while flying in bad weather. In a video message posted on Facebook and addressed to the "Agape family" Allen Speer, President and CEO of the organization, stated, "We do not believe there were any survivors... Our hearts are broken. We deeply mourn the families of the pilots who are now suffering an unimaginable loss," he said, his voice breaking. S/ HaitiLibre
