Carnival : Public Holidays

With reference to Articles 1 and 2 of the Decree of December 11, 2024, which more precisely define public holidays, the General Secretariat of the Presidency informs public and private sector employees that the Public Administration, Commerce, Industry, and Schools will observe the following holidays :

• Monday, February 16, 2026, starting at noon;

• Tuesday, February 17, and Wednesday, February 18, 2026, throughout the entire national territory.

5th Sectoral Security Table

The 5th meeting of the Sectoral Security Table (SST) focused on the progress of the national security forces and the establishment of the Gang Repression Force (GRF), in preparation for the upcoming SST Conference. The discussions focused in particular on institutional strengthening, operational coordination, the Concept of Operations (CONOPS), the legal framework, the role of the National Security Council, and respect for human rights in the conduct of operations.

Les Cayes : Inauguration of the Arts Factory

The Arts Factory was inaugurated in Les Cayes on February 11, 2026. It benefits from the support of the Knowledge and Freedom Foundation (FOKAL) within the framework of the Tanbou project, and is supported by the French Development Agency (AFD) and the French Institute. The Arts Factory is more than a cultural space; it is a place for creation, transmission, and encounter. In Les Cayes, the Factory is becoming a vibrant stage where artists, audiences, and communities come together to learn, create, and engage in dialogue.

Friendly Match : Grenadiers U-20 Win [2-0]

As part of their preparation for the first round of CONCACAF qualifying for the FIFA U-20 World Cup, the Grenadiers' U-20 national team secured a 2-0 victory against SLG Academy. Armstrong Leconte opened the scoring in the first half [1-0], while Alcimé Arthur doubled the lead in the second half [2-0]. The U-20 team will return to the pitch this Saturday morning for another friendly match against Aigle Noir AC.

Carnivals : State Financial Support

The Ministry of Culture has announced institutional financial support for municipalities for the carnival festivities scheduled from February 15 to 17, 2026. Given the number of requests, the Ministry stated its intention to revise the budget allocated to this cultural event, which is meant to be a time of peace, conviviality, and civic responsibility.

On Wednesday, February 11, 2026, Pierre-Richard Cajuste, the new Ambassador of the Republic of Haiti to Qatar, having presented his credentials on January 7, 2026, to His Majesty Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs (https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-46588-icihaiti-qatar-new-haitian-ambassador.html), officially presented his credentials to His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the State of Qatar, during a solemn ceremony at the Diwan Amiri in Doha.
