Haiti - Quiz : Did You Know ? #10

Did you know that the word "gogol", popularized in its English form "googol", designates the number 10100, that is to say a 1 followed by one hundred zeros. This term was invented in 1938 by Milton Sirotta, a nine-year-old child, nephew of the American mathematician Edward Kasner. Kasner was looking for a name to illustrate the difference between an immense number and infinity. The gogol is so large that it far exceeds the number of atoms in the observable universe, estimated to be between 1078 and 1082. Although this unit has no direct practical application in common physical calculations, it serves as an educational tool to demonstrate the immensity of large numbers. For the record, the founders of the famous search engine Google chose this name (by modifying the spelling) to symbolize their mission to organize the immense amount of information available on the web. There is also the "gogolplex", which is a 1 followed by a gogol of zeros, a number that would be physically impossible to write down in full, even using the entire universe as paper.
