Delegation of Chinese investors in Cap-Haitien

On Thursday, April 9, the Cap-Haitien Municipal Commission met with a delegation of investors from the People's Republic of China (mainland China) as part of an exploratory visit organized with the support of the Haitian Embassy in the Dominican Republic.

Led by the Caleli Decorative Materials Co. S.R.I. Group, this mission aimed to explore investment opportunities in northern Haiti. The visit focused on private economic interests and large-scale infrastructure projects, often linked to the Belt and Road Initiative. The delegation preferred to meet directly with the Cap-Haïtien Municipal Commission rather than with the Haitian government (an ally of Taiwan).

Discussions centered on the feasibility of creating an industrial park and a large commercial complex, as well as developing activities that would generate employment and added value for the region.

This initiative is part of the Municipality's ongoing efforts to position Cap-Haïtien as a dynamic and competitive investment hub. It also paves the way for the creation of over 1,000 jobs, while incorporating innovative approaches, particularly in the area of plastic waste recovery.
